What's new?

Nothin! I haven't made any new art in a while - I haven't been in any shows to sell it, nothing sells off Etsy, and I even tried the farmers market - but that was the wrong venue. (desperate times call for desperate measures) Anyone wanna buy some art?

The need to create never stops, but I don't want 'unwanted' art piling up around the house so I've been back at my computer, playing with photoshop, making some digital layouts.

This was made for this week's digital art journal prompt at DSP.

I'm diggin some of the new techniques I'm learning in photoshop - lots of fun.

My nest

I'm so excited - I bought an abandoned bird's nest off ebay, from a sweet gal in Australia way back in May. I've been waiting for it forever and figured that customs must have stopped it because it's natural they have so many rules about stuff like that - well today it finally arrived!

And these cuties are the former tenants!

Here is the story....

• Built & abondoned by Australian Native Noisy Miners.
• Local materials include: outside: sticks & twigs (from conifers, plumbago, bougainvillea, tea tree), lining: Horse hair, Cow hair, Alpaca wool
• Measures approximately 130 x 70mm outside & 50 x 40mm inside
• These birds took about 2 weeks to build this nest. All 3 eggs that were laid hatched. It was only 2 weeks later that the little one's were old enough to leave the nest. They are now adults and have just built a nest of their own containing 3 eggs!

It's my 2nd real nest. I also have an abandoned hummingbird nest.

counting sheep...

....well not really - I'm totally tired, but I can't sleep. It's 5am and I have not had a wink of sleep yet. There's nothing on but infomercials, my eyes are too blury for art, so I'm messing around in photoshop till I drop, I guess.

Here's a layout created for an art journal challenge on the DSP boards. Today's theme is about altering photos so they look a little artier. I did mine about my firstborn love, Trevor.
